    Jan Zembol was born in Letownia in the diocese of Krakow, September 7, 1905. In 1922 he was accepted by the Province of Friars Minor of St. Mary of the Angels. Completed his novitiate, he was admitted to the profession temporary October 22, 1928 and that solemn March 6, 1932, assuming the name of Brunon. The play touched the offices of cook and organist in various convents of the Province.

    The November 19, 1939 was taken as hostage to Chelm and imprisoned in Lublin. From here the first was later deported to Sachsenhausen and finally, in December 1939, in Dachau. On August 21, 1942, exhausted in the police and prepared to encounter the Lord by his guardian, offered holocaust in his life, a victim of peace dreaming a new humanity. In prison his companions the soprannominarono, for his unfailing love, “angel of patience and goodness.”

    John Paul II beatified in Warsaw (Poland) on June 13, 1999 with 107 other Polish martyrs, which include his four other brothers.To date there is commemorated by the new Martyrologium Romanum on the anniversary of his glorious martyrdom.
