Recognized by the Israeli Yad Vashem Institute – The Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Authority in Jerusalem, as “Righteous Among Nations” for helping Polish Jews, which was well publicized to be punished by death.
Priest, Rector of the Archidiocesan Seminary in Warsaw, Bl. Roman had studied at the Ecclesiastical Academy in St. Petersburg. was sent to Majdanek for aiding Jews; died after torture in Oct. 1943.
