Roman Martyrology: In the village of Rafelbunyol in Valencia
in Spain,blessedVincenzo Maria Izquierdo Alcon, Priest and Martyr,
killed in hatred of the faith.
He was proclaimed a Martry on December 18, 2000 with a group
known asJose Aparicio Sanz and 73 companions, Priests, and Lay
fromthe Archdioceseof Valencia, he was Beatified onMarch 11,
2001 byPope John Paul together with 232 other victims of
Persecution during the Spanish Civil War.

Also, it’s the feast day of Saint Alberto Hurtado, S.J., a holy priest from Chile, responsible for the Hogar de Cristo which fed and is still feeding so many of the poor throughout Chile and other countries… :)
