Race in this supposedly post-racial presidency

October 3, 2009

No We Can't

I thought Obama was supposed to be a post-racial president. Why, then, is any whiff of dissent reported in the press as racism?

ross perot

He reminds me of Ross Perot. I’ve been assured that it’s the ears.

I am not a member of either political party.  I live in a liberal state, where everyone assumes that others are as liberal as they are. People are shocked to learn that I disagree.

acron

I had misgivings about Obama’s candidacy. Especially once it was revealed that he had been affiliated with ACORN. I don’t like them. Never did.

abortionI found it offensive that he didn’t want his daughters punished with a baby. Perhaps he just doesn’t want his daughters to be responsible. Or to value life.

I don’t like the Weathermen.

Racist preachers.

Numerous Czars.

Czar Alexander III

I have a framed photograph of Czar Alexander III.

Nanny-State

I’m not a fan of big government; we don’t need to live in a nanny state. It’s stifling. I thought the bailout was a bad idea. I’m against ramming legislation through without discussion.

riyal

I’m offended that the government owns part of AIG, which promotes Sharia Banking; if you recall, this is banking done by Islamic principles. No investments in un-Islamic products. While I don’t have an exhaustive list of those, I do know that

pork and any pig products would be verboten.

alcohol

As would alcohol. No investing in Hormel, purveyor of fine pork products or any alcohol distillers or suppliers.

Dubai Bank-Mohammed Amiri and Faizal Eledath-prhero

I think it’s just fine if the First Bank of Dubai, or any institution in a Muslim country follows Sharia Banking, but it’s anti-Capitalist as limitations are set, not by government nor by the marketplace, but rather by a religion. If you recall that pesky little Constitution that we’re supposed to follow, the one prohibiting promotion of one religion above others, well, that’s a problem here as the government owns a portion of a bank promoting Islamic Banking.

Fight Obamacare! Contact your Congressman and Pray to the Immaculate Conception

August 2, 2009

immaculate conceptionGo to Blogging the Immaculate Mother of Mercy for excerpts from Obamacare, courtesy of Father George’s fellow Fathers of Mercy. Including the Government’s right to have access to your bank account, medical records and all other records. Forcing everyone, one way or another to participate. Providing free healthcare to illegal aliens. Preventing anyone from questioning the government. Subsidizing retirement funds for unions and community organizers, like ACORN.

It’s frightening. Please urge your representatives to vote against it. They likely haven’t read it or are closet Fascists themselves.

Please join me in praying to The Immaculate Conception, Patroness of the United States.

It’s always good to pray the rosary, especially when looking for victory.

Socialism, Fascism, Anti-Capitalism

socialism

I have experience of socialism and didn’t enjoy it; many years ago, I spent a year attending Socialist U. It was a dreary, gray, communist place. Read the rest of this entry »

The Cult of Personality

July 31, 2009

The Cult of Personality has struck again and I’m nervous. Obama is attempting to force through way too much legislation that nobody has read, reviewed or understands. I don’t want to be forced to die when someone decides I’m no longer necessary; on his staff is someone who at one time advocated forced sterilization even though that has already been ruled on by the courts and you can’t do it. Prop 8 and the politics of H8

November 11, 2008

templesign

Those Episcopalians who now fancy themselves Anglicans have learned a bitter lesson.  The Mormons this week have learned the same one:  Those who differ with the gay community will be accused of hate. In a time when escalated language is de rigeur, the accusation of hatred is not enough, so it is made more graphic by associating the opponent with a heinous act.  Cue Matthew Shepherd.  So Mormons and Anglican by differing with the gay community, are now often accused of complicity in the murder of Matt Shepard, the countless murdered gays through the ages, gay bashings, Hitler.  It always goes back to Hitler, doesn’t it?

Today I am shocked by one thing only:  that nothing shocks me and that being called worse than Hitler is a kind of badge signifying that someone was actually listening to what I said.  Phony outrage is a rhetorical weapon as old as the hills, but the gay community has mastered the craft. De Profundis

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord;
Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to my voice in supplication:

If you, O Lord, should mark our guilt,
Lord, who can stand?
But with you is forgiveness,
that you may be revered.

I trust in the Lord;
my soul trusts in his word.
My soul waits for the Lord,
more than sentinels wait for the dawn.
More than sentinels wait for the dawn,
let Israel wait for the Lord;

For with the Lord is kindness
and with him is plenteous redemption;
And he will redeem Israel from all their iniquities. Ps. 130

Will the Feminists Riot?

August 21, 2008

This week a Catholic blogger came out in support of Barack Obama despite the candidate’s position on abortion. More interesting to me than that a liberal blogger at the controversial Vox Nova would ignore the evil of abortion was a comment to the effect that Feminists would riot if Roe v. Wade were overturned. I had never thought of this. Here is digbydolben’s comment:

What often fascinates me about Americans is not just how divided your country is, but, also, how little certain elements of the population know other elements: obviously a great many people writing here have little or no knowledge of the millions of “feminists” presently living in America who consider the right to “control their reproductive systems” as a basic human right now.

I, however, have known many of this type of “modern woman” during my time in the United States, and I can tell you, “Father J,” that, if you succeeded in criminalizing abortion in certain states, or if you succeeded in passing an Amendment to the Constitution repealing Roe vs Wade, or if the Supreme Court were tipped by Republican appointments toward a reversal of Roe vs. Wade, these women would take to the streets; they’d burn your courthouses down, their feelings regarding this “right” are so strong. TheCall: Evangelicals March on Washington

August 20, 2008
USAToday reports on TheCall, a movement of Evangelical religious and political rallies held in cities across the US and abroad to draw attention to moral issues and to offer prayer and fasting.
WASHINGTON — Tens of thousands of evangelical Christians converged on the National Mall here Saturday to highlight moral issues before the fall presidential election with a day of fasting, prayer and music.

Organizers of TheCall DC said 70,000 people turned out for the event, though that number could not be confirmed independently by the National Park Service. Read the rest of this entry »

Barack the Messiah

July 25, 2008

And it came to pass, in the eighth year of the reign of the evil Bush the Younger (The Ignorant), when the whole land from the Arabian desert to the shores of the Great Lakes had been laid barren, that a Child appeared in the wilderness.

The Child was blessed in looks and intellect. Scion of a simple family, offspring of a miraculous union, grandson of a typical white person and an African peasant. And yea, as he grew, the Child walked in the path of righteousness, with only the occasional detour into the odd weed and a little blow.

When he was twelve years old, they found him in the temple in the City of Chicago, arguing the finer points of community organisation with the Prophet Jeremiah and the Elders. And the Elders were astonished at what they heard and said among themselves: “Verily, who is this Child that he opens our hearts and minds to the audacity of hope?”

In the great Battles of Caucus and Primary he smote the conniving Hillary, wife of the deposed King Bill the Priapic and their barbarian hordes of Working Class Whites. Read the rest of this entry »

Evangelicals Moving to Obama is Media Hoax

July 21, 2008

I am vindicated!

As I have long suspected, (December 10, and January 4) the evangelical vote is not moving toward Obama as the MSM has been reporting since last November. In fact, support for Obama among Evangelicals at this point in the election cycle (25%) is slightly less than it was for John Kerry (26%) four years ago! GetReligion.org reports this media hoax based on Pew research figures. Read the rest of this entry »
