The First Jewish Religious Service Broadcast since Hitler took power

took place on the battlefield during WWII. Max Fuchs, who was studying to be a Cantor when war broke out, acted as Cantor so the service could take place.

Max Fuchs

He had a personal connection to the war, as some of his family members died in Poland. It’s great that this story is again in public eye and that the name of the singer is now associated with the recording.

This is beautiful.

Original recording and transcript.
