Blessed Enrico D’Austria
Knight layman, Blessed Enrico D’Austria, was called by all’Oridne Mercedario Blessed Virgin. In Tunis, where he was scourged for redemption he acted as witness with his great showing of faith in Christ and love as he endured torment. Famous for prayer, illibata in chastity, penance strong and amiable conversation. After announcing the hour of death, his last words were: O Lord you are my hope, my soul returns to God.
From his cell a choir of angels was heard. He is buried in the Church of Mercy in Barcelona.
The Order celebrates him March 7th.
