Rebels without a Clue

Rebellious parishioners in the Archdiocese of Boston are occupying more than one church that has been closed by the Archdiocese. Several matters are under appeal with the Vatican.

Is this what it means today to be Catholic? To protest the church? To entice a priest into consecrating the host for their illicit services, services in which women preside?

Pray that these people give up their rebellion and return to the church.

    Hi All,

I know this in not perhaps the correct place to post this, but I thought you’d find it amusing guys!

It does get folks talking though – not a bad thing one hopes.

    Wycliffe,

    It is quite amusing.

But it does seem to me that for most people in the contemporary West, especially in Europe, God isn’t a worry regulating their actions. So it seems like feeble self-affirmation.

That being said, if these people are taking a more agnostic than atheist position, then perhaps their slogan shouldn’t be “for the one life we have” but rather “for this life” (agnostics not, of course, knowing whether there is an afterlife, equally so not knowing that this is the only life).

Could I respond to the secular humanists on their own terms with this ad: “There’s probably no point to any of your actions, so don’t worry and stop pretending altruism makes sense in your philosophy.”

A bit wordy, but provocative. :)

    Wycliffe,

I just stumbled on this rather hilarious parody…
