De Profundis

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord;
Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to my voice in supplication:

If you, O Lord, should mark our guilt,
Lord, who can stand?
But with you is forgiveness,
that you may be revered.

I trust in the Lord;
my soul trusts in his word.
My soul waits for the Lord,
more than sentinels wait for the dawn.
More than sentinels wait for the dawn,
let Israel wait for the Lord;

For with the Lord is kindness
and with him is plenteous redemption;
And he will redeem Israel from all their iniquities. Ps. 130

    You communicate far more effectively with a few verses from the word of God than with many more words preached apart from biblical truth IMO. :-)

    For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!

    Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

    Preach the word!

    I stumbled across your post at Chicagoansagainstobama and found your website.

    As a practicing Catholic, I feel I’ve just stumbled onto a verdent oasis here amidst a dry and searing desert of cyberspace..

    I have this picture framed and hanging from my wall. If there were ever a wordless argument absolutely refuting the illogical and selfish worldview of “pro-choice” this is it.

    Worth a thousand words.

    Peace, it is indeed a pleasure to meet you.

    Hey ChicagoBlood,

    Welcome to TBC. Glad you have found us. I really love this picture, too. It gives me pause every time I see it.

    Take a look around and make yourself at home, brother.
