Please pray for the Red River Valley, in imminent danger of flooding. The water has risen high enough to break a 112 year old record in Fargo/Moorhead. All this, compounded by snow and cold.
People are being evacuated, some to the Minneapolis area, neighborhoods have already flooded, and the river continues to rise.
The Red River of the North flows to the North, so Grand Forks/East Grand Forks and Manitoba could still be affected by floodwaters. Grand Forks was rebuilt after the flood of 1997, with bigger setbacks from the river and a new dike. My favorite college bar didn’t survive. The Art Deco Bar in Whitey’s did survive but was moved further away from the river.
